We have an immediate opening for a talented full-time Medical Assistant to join our team in Newport Beach! We are a busy subspecialty private practice and we strive on providing the best patient care possible. If you are friendly, cooperative, detail-oriented and have at least one year of experience, please apply! Tech savvy is a big plus. Approximately 32-40 hours a week.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records and ensure all forms and/or consents are completed by patients
Assist with check-out process, present supplements for sale, arrange laboratory services
Ensure all related reports and labs are available in patients chart prior to their appointment
Prepare patients for examination, take vitals, and record patients health history
Prepare injections and medications, perform routine specimen collection and tests
Set up equipment and examination rooms and clean instruments after use, properly dispose of contaminated materials
Assist physician with medical treatments, procedures, and exams
Manage inventory of medical supplies and keep exam rooms stocked with appropriate supplies at all times
Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, medications, autoclave, MLT maintenance, Sculpsure keys, etc.)
Provides patients with educational materials and orders
Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Experience: 2 years preferred
Certifications/Licenses: CPR and first aid certification required; Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
Urogynecology experience a plus

Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times
Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Experience with EMR, MS Word, Excel, MS outlook
Be able to prioritize workload while remaining flexible
